Hello, my name is Allison 'G' Greenbaum. After travelling the world for over 6 years, including volunteering in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina, I've seen the natural beauty of our environment and the complete destruction natural disasters can cause. When I returned to Toronto, I wanted to spend my time and energy working on something that would truly make a difference. Since the cost of living is so high, I decided to create a product that would help people save money on items and services that support the environment and promote healthy living. I also wanted to promote locally-owned businesses since shopping there keeps money circulating in our community -- creating a stronger economy with unique shops.
The Little Green Book of Big Savings made it easy for Torontonians to live a green and healthy lifestyle while saving hundreds or even thousands of dollars. I spent two and a half years working on this book as my full time job. I did not apply for outside funding and did not charge retailers to participate in the book. It was a personally funded labour of love to support my community. A second edition is not in the works at this time. Thank you to everyone who had a part in making this possible.
